This includes more classical poses including (PNF), advanced (pranayama) breathing methods, meditation, visualisation and Yoga Philosophy. All levels of experience can commence in this class, however a beginner's course is recommended prior to attending. Posture and Flexibility All classes incorporate the PNF system of stretching. From the original stretch position, the student gently pushes or pulls the muscle(s) in the direction of which the stretch is felt creating a contraction, after several breaths the muscle(s) are consciously relaxed as you stop contracting, then on an out breath you stretch the limb further into a new stretch position which will always be further into the range of movement than before. It is especially useful for specific conditions that have developed as a result of injury or ongoing muscular problems and has a deeper relaxation effect afterwards and is complementry to the hatha yoga asanas. Reconnective Yoga Reconnective Yoga is a new practice now being brought into the Yoga class. Mostly the classes are of a Hatha Yoga Nature joined with Reconnective Healing. During the class you are encouraged to feel and access the energy or frequecies during some of the practises, before and during the class. While practicing this way the student tends to feel more "connected" and relaxed and is able to hold and go further into the posture, with ease. It is Yoga and self healing combined to create a powerful practice. |
