Class Information
All classes are designed for you to practise within your own capabilities, regardless of age or physical abilities.
 
Style of teaching
Classes are designed to create better health practises for individual needs, drawing on Yoga Practices that enhance health and wellbeing.
The classes integrate exercises that are easily practised slowly developing A combination of static and dynamic postures and Vinyasa. Using mindfulness and self awareness. Meditation and Yoga nidra (relaxation), is incorporated creating an integrated practise.
 
Beginners level
This class incorporates the basic principles that teach postural alignment and self awareness using Hatha Yoga postures, integration of the breath with movement, core stability and relaxation with an introduction to meditation.
 
General class
From the basic principles you are extended to further develop the practices to a more intermediate and advanced level of Yoga.  This includes more classical poses including (PNF), advanced (pranayama) breathing methods, meditation, visualisation and Yoga Philosophy.  All levels of experience can commence in this class, however a beginner's course is recommended prior to attending.
 
Pre-Natal
This class nurtures your body by preparing for as natural a birth as possible.  Postures to prepare a mother for labour, breath awareness to help manage with childbirth, relaxation and meditation to allow a connection of yourself and baby at a deeper level. Posture and Flexibility
All classes incorporate the PNF system of stretching.  From the original stretch position, the student gently pushes or pulls the muscle(s) in the direction of which the stretch is felt creating a contraction, after several breaths the muscle(s) are consciously relaxed as you stop contracting, then on an out breath you stretch the limb further into a new stretch position which will always be further into the range of movement than before.  It is especially useful for specific conditions that have developed as a result of injury or ongoing muscular problems and has a deeper relaxation effect afterwards and is complementry to the hatha yoga asanas.
 Meditation Courses
 
Meditation is becoming well known for its health benefits.  Understanding who you are and accepting your wholeness and greatness is fundamental to your health and wellbeing.  Meditation is possibly the most honest and clear way to acheive this. Our mind comprises of an ego and a soul or inner self.  For most part we are operating from the ego level unable to connect with the wisest part of ourselves, our true nature, that part that knows all we will ever need to know.  We live constantly at the demands of life and those around us.  If we can find our centre and live from there our life opens into unlimited possiblilties. Possiblities of more happiness and peace, a deeper understanding of ourselves and others, we begin to align ourselves to our deep purpose.
Through learning the fundamentals of Meditation and Yoga we can have a place of reference to return to when our life throws itself out of balance, when pain and suffering sets in we have somewhere to go to find the answers.
 
The Meditation courses present various practises to help you to discover and experience the place of the inner self.  The breath plays an important role in finding your inner self, and the course covers various breathing practises that will enliven you as well as create states of tranquility and peace.. Attitudes and behavious are our stumbling blocks at times, once known we can recognise those attitudes that create problems and shift over to attitudes that are helpful to our health and wellbeing. Learning to be more mindful in each and every moment, learning to trust yourself and life. Understanding there is more to our lives than we can sometimes see brings about a life where you are living with excitement and purpose. Bringing more love and happiness into your lives and those around you is your birthright. Each one of us effects the whole, the more we live from our true self we benefit ourselves as well as those we work with, live with and love with, it is healing the whole world.

Meditation Courses - Level One
These courses are held throughout the year. The course uses discussion along with simple practises that create a balanced state of mind.  You will be introduced to the principles and practises of meditation using mindfulness.  It will involve simple stretches to release tension.  Breath awareness and practises to rejuvenate, calm and centre, and an understanding of the ever-changing world in which we live. 
 
Once known a different approach to your daily life can be introduced.  The benefits are a heighten sense of self, greater acceptance, clarity of mind and a balanced emotional state leading you to live in the present moment.  You may choose to sit on the floor or in a chair.  Please bring a blanket, cushion or meditation stool. A smile inside your comfortable clothes is essential.
 
COURSES WILL RE-COMMENCE AFTER THE ZEN MEDITATION WEEKEND IN MAY.
I highly recommend this weekend, for anyone wishing to improve any aspect of their lives.
 
LEVEL TWO MEDITATION
 This meditation workshop will introduce the student to a more indepth understanding of meditation, the obstacles to acheiving finer states of awareness.  The relationship of the Observer and the understanding of how our mind and thoughts play a vital role in coming to know more of who you are.  Understanding the senses.  Insight meditations.
The course will include simple stretches, restorative yoga and breathing practices, visualisation, relaxation and discussion.
