Cathie McGill


Cathie is a Senior Teacher and long time student of Integral based Yoga and associated health & wellbeing practices. Her studies in Alternative Health extends over twenty five years.


Cathie ran a successful Remedial Therapies practice for fourteen years using various Alternative therapies, She discovered that Practicing Yoga & Meditation was an important aspect to attaining a tension free relaxed body, mindful living, more able to cope with life's demands, and therefore moved into full time teaching.


She started going along to classes in the early 1990’s when Yoga was just starting to be partially accepted in the West. Cathie was fortunate to have two very good teachers who shared Yoga in an Integral way. She has followed and explored a number of different styles and blends of practice since then and finds herself still learning and deepening her understanding and connection relating to the meaning and purpose of Yoga. The class, the teacher and the student join together as one to support, prepare and nurture the whole of humanity so we can live a happier more productive life. Her intention is to introduce Yoga to others to be used to increase health and abundance.


Cathie is the founder of The Spirit of Yoga School and was the director of Mindfulbody Yoga, Norwood, in Australia and teaches classes and courses in Hatha Yoga and Meditation, Restorative Yoga Sunday Sessions and her signature workshop Energy Body, and offers an integral approach in developing a balanced life style. She also is a Certified Reconnective Healing Practitioner.



Cathie spent fourteen years as a Remedial Massage Therapist, and the last 19 years teaching Yoga and Meditation. During that time she facilitated classes and workshops in Yoga and Meditation and worked in schools. Cathie was contracted to teach within the league football field to improve flexibility and reduce and treat injury, improve focus. She has lectured in the workplace. She currently Teaches Restorative Yoga and Runs retreats along with specialised Hatha Yoga. Personal instruction for anyone wanting tools for Anxiety, Depression, Physical pain etc.


Working with numerous people over the years who experienced back, neck pain, anxiety depression and general stress, Cathie realised those who were prepared to use Yoga, breathing, Meditation and Relaxation to help their health and wellness along with alternative therapies recovered from there stress quicker.


She went onto study with Kit Lauglin an Australian researcher, developer and author of overcome back & neck pain and found a way of stretching, strengthening and releasing the body of tension.
Her passion about developing and knowing who you truly are led her to deepen her studies of the human psyche through the system of the Enneagram through her teacher Lawrence Grazious, a Dharma teacher from America.


She became a student of Judith Hansen Lasater the creator of Relax & Renew and shares Judith's passion for Restorative Yoga. She is currently studying Chakra Yoga, a complete Yoga system that draws upon a connection of our innate spiritual nature without physical reality.
She completed the training Course Guided Imagery with Dr. Ian Gawler in 2017 and facilitates Guided Relaxation both in groups and for individuals to improve health.
Whe is certified to teach Trauma Sensitive Yoga and incorporates some of the principles of understanding Trauma.
She is the creator of the Restorative Yoga Wisdom Training Course.


Since being drawn to Reconnective Healing, A new spectrum of Healing which supports the body's natural ability to heal itself. Cathie became a Certified Reconnective Healing Practitioner and now help people on their healing journey through Reconnective Healing sessions, and The Reconnection, the attunement of axitonial lines within the body to that of the universal field of energy.
