Using the technique of Contract/Relax you will learn how to use any Yoga Asana or stretch position to create a more effective and safe stretch than static or dynamic stretching.
Based on the proprioreceptor systems modelling of changing the brains response to tension and pain within the muscular system...basically, we are re wiring the information from the muscle to the brain....there are so many ways to achieve this so if you have a particular Asana you would like to explore there may be time for this...otherwise...
You will learn how to stretch the Hamstrings effectively, deepen a twist movement, get further in a forward bend and side bend, simple shoulder and hip flexors/piriformis. Once you understand the basis of how to, the rest becomes easy and you will be able to assist your private clients and students to gain a deeper flexibility. As this is using the breath it becomes a deep mindful practice. Fascia releases, seretonin and other important nuerotransmitters are activated
Are you guiding your groups and individuals correctly to learn how they can use the breath more effectively.
There is a simple formular that builds a persons breath awareness from just noticing the breath to being able to extend and hold breath ratios. Here you will be able to guide your students towards good breath practice.
