Spirit of Rest
When we rest deeply without and physical, mental or emotional disturbances we arrive within the Spirit of peace,
calm , clarity and love. Spirit of Rest, Restorative Yoga classes and programs are rich in Yoga Therapy. A compilation of Warmth, Support, Breath, and stillness practices that both balance and restore the nervous system to reduce the effects of Stress and Trauma, nourishing all of the bodies organs and systems to communicate in a healthy way.
All sessions are themed based with intention. Each one a deeply nourishing practice that offers the body, heart and mind a respite from the day-to-day obligations and responsibilities, focusing on the intention of the day.
Integrating the use props to support the body in classical Yoga postures while awareness is drawn to intentional
breath through simple breathing practices and guided relaxation to increase their therapeutic effect.
Class content may include gentle heart-openers, twists, forward & back folds and inversions. Meditation and Visualization are also a key component to this enriching practice that calls you to come back for more.
Yoga is becoming increasingly popular as a source of deep Relaxation and self enquiry, often the most difficult of skills to master. Using the principles of support, sublime positioning, meditation, guided visualisation and correct breathing, you are guided into relaxation / mindfulness.
With anxiety, depression and adrenal exhaustion becoming common health issues effecting peoples' energy and ability to cope with living a work-life-balance, the importance to learn how to overcome stress is essential to good health.
Studies in Neuroscience are showing how we can change and reverse the effects of stress to enhance our state of health and well-being. Restorative Practices and enquiry do just that. Restorative Yoga is a practical and effective way to reduce stress and aid the body's natural healing to take place for a wide variety of physical, mental and emotional health concerns.
Documented Research in Relaxation and Meditation reveal these associated practices to achieve this are necessary to reset the body's Flight/Flight Response to withdraw and the Rest/Digest Response to restore.
