I absolutely loved the Retreat. I found myself flowing into the poses and surprised myself with how far and long I could extend and maintain the practices (particularly triangle pose). When we lay down for relaxation, I felt like my body was glowing and I could feel orange/red lights in my palms and a warmness spreading all over me. Overall my mind is clearer and I feel more accepting. I'm definitely feeling a positive shift within me, a balance I needed to find again. I look forward to returning to another Retreat soon."

Last night i went to a restorative class just out of curiosity. I enjoyed it but so much was missing. Just basic things like covering yourself, and eyes,something under the head, alternative postures, brearhwork. So I just wanted to say thank you for the way you taught us in your course. Thank you for sharing all your amazing knowledge and wisdom. I realise just how much you’ve passed to me after attending this ‘esteemed’ class in which a lot was missing ( I say this respectfully). Just makes me feel lucky and I’m so happy to have found you to teach me so that I can share it with others.

I recently attended the Spirit of Yoga’s monthly Restorative Yoga class. This month’s class was “Unravel the Knots”. Wow this exactly just what I needed! Hi Cathie, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra  Workshop. I wanted to share my experience with you and others, so that maybe others will benefit the way I have. Saturday, five weeks ago, I attended your workshop. I was feeling tired as usual, and I had body aches. My arms are especially weak and I often get pain in my wrists, therefore it is difficult for me to hold Yoga postures with the weight on my arms, hands and wrists in general classes. I had been attending Yoga classes at this stage for four months. During the workshop, you explained how our bodies create holding patterns and if we add more support especially under areas like the shoulders, wrists and neck we can begin to send different messages to the brain receptors to change the holding patterns, this is why Restorative Yoga is so healing and transforming.

at  times you came over to me and placed your hands softly on my body. I started to feel a slight connection between my body and feelings. I attempted positions that I could not normally do. I was beginning to feel more confident and less distracted.  I left that afternoon feeling energised and good about myself. Since then, I am really focusing on healing myself from within, and reconnecting with me. For the first time in my life, my fingernails are growing. I'm starting to focus more on my diet and exercise, and overall I am feeling more connected spiritually.  For the first time in such a long time, I am finally feeling more like the old me. Now my focus for 2014 is my health and well being. I feel that the Restorative Workshop has helped me change. It has given me an inner strength and determination to focus on my well being and spiritual connection. I wanted to say a big THANK YOU and I look forward to more Yoga classes in 2015.

"The second treatment was amazing. I had been rushing so I thought I would not be able to relax, but to the contrary, once I was on the bed and you started the treatment everything became very clear and I realised that I needed to pay attention to what was happening to me. I felt warm unlike the first time. I started to see the flashing of waves again & then knew that these were the pages of a book, they were flashing through my head and I knew that I was receiving very important information. I could not decipher what was on these pages because they were flashing by so fast, they contained a lot of info, but it didn't matter because I knew that one day I would know when the time was right. I also noticed a young man sitting on the floor near my bed. He was holding a book & taking notes, I knew he was receiving the info also but in a different way. At that moment I knew the process was complete & that my session was over as far as I was concerned, but I thought, I will just lie here & enjoy this time out with Cathie which must have been another twenty mins till you said we were finished. My head is more settled since my treatment, my goals are clearer and I know that I am thinking on a deeper level. All is great and I can't wait to catch up again.

"I highly recommend these courses by Cathie McGill. Even if you don’t plan to run Restorative Yoga or Yoga Nidra classes, the info and practice she teaches are so key to your wellness journey. You get to experience deep rest that resets your nervous system that provides not just physical but also mental and emotional benefits. She weaves in wisdom for spiritual growth with grounded healing techniques. I had a couple of shifts after her training weekends, particularly in the areas where I hold stress. I use what I learn now to restore my body so I don’t burnout or get sick."
